Peripherals developer Raidon recently announced HyBrid Disk, an innovative SSD/HDD hybrid mechanism that facilitates writes to a SSD and simultaneous mirror backups to a 3.5-inch standard hard drive in the same enclosure. Files written to the SSD are backed up to the 3.5-inch mechanism as set intervals. If the SSD fails, the data can be recovered from the hard drive. The SSD drive can be removed and used separately from the mechanism. When replaced within the HyBrid Disk, the 3.5 inch hard drive will back up the data on the SSD. Internal configurations are expected in April, and external enclosures will follow thereafter. Pricing information was not provided.
