About

After a separate life as a lawyer, I moved to technology as the legal profession grudgingly transitioned from typewriters to computers.  I did product reviews for legal technology publications for more than ten years as a columnist for Law Office Computing, California Lawyer, ABA Law Journal, Washington State Bar News, and other law related publications.  I was chair of the Idaho Legal Technology Committee, and lectured on technology for attorneys at seminars in Washington, Idaho and California.  I was one of forty attorneys nationally designated by Apple Computer as a Apple Legal Fellow, which provided the opportunity to speak at MacWorld on six separate occasions on using technology for law offices and in the presentation of evidence.

We then moved to providing forensic animation for the legal profession, eventually to video, and then to DVD creation. Four years ago we purchased a intraframe DVCProHD camcorder, and have been working in high definition since then.

Today, we do high end motion graphics in Spokane, Washington, and continue to provide product reviews for leading internet based video professional sites, including the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group, Ken Stone’s Video Site and dvxuser.com.  I also moderate several forums at 2-pop.com, contribute as a Level IV as the Apple ProApps Discussions, and am active at the Panasonic forums at dvxuser.com.

I am the first to admit that what I’ve learned about professional video is derived from on the job training and the great information provided by the Level IV posters at the Apple Discussions including Shane Ross, Jerry Hoffman, Tom Wolsky, Mark Spencer, Patrick Sheffield, Jon Chappell, Jim Cookman, and dozens of others who have been gracious in providing decades of experience without hesitation or charge in the professional application forums.

I am also grateful for the wonderful assistance of Michael Horton, Ned Soltz and Barry Green.
